Tips: eligibility, safeguards, and how support will work.
When an answer saves someone time or money, they should be able to thank the person who helped. Receiving money will still require an earned record of trustworthy contribution.
Open beta status: cash tips are not active
Tip eligibility is earned
Tip eligibility requires less community trust than stewardship because it does not grant moderation or governance authority. It still cannot be available to a brand-new or unproven account. The ability to receive money should follow demonstrated value, sound conduct, and visible commercial disclosures.
Contribute complete value
Helpful answers must stand on their own inside FidiFox. A link, referral, or sales pitch cannot replace the useful contribution.
Build trust across multiple periods
Eligibility requires useful contributions validated by distinct trusted members across more than one closed settlement period. One popular answer is not enough.
Maintain sound conduct and disclosures
Hidden incentives, coordinated support, unresolved enforcement, or misleading affiliations can delay, suspend, or remove eligibility.
Complete payout verification
Before receiving real money, an eligible contributor must satisfy the payment provider's identity, age, tax, and payout requirements.
Support never buys influence
No ranking advantage
A tip never increases feed placement, helpful totals, recommendation priority, or earned reach.
No standing or credits
A tip creates no reputation, promotion credits, stewardship eligibility, or governance authority.
No obligation
A contributor cannot require a tip, hide value behind payment, or treat support as permission to promote.
How real-money support should work
FidiFox plans to begin with optional one-time tips rather than a stored wallet. The member chooses a support amount and the eligible contributor receives 100 percent of that selected tip. FidiFox keeps none of the tip amount. Any processing or FidiFox service fee is displayed separately before confirmation rather than deducted from the contributor's tip.
Payment processing must include identity verification, refunds, chargebacks, fraud review, tax handling, reserves, recipient suspension, and clear records. Recurring contributor support may be considered only after the one-time model proves useful and safe.
First prove that the thanks is real
During the beta, FidiFox will first test a noncash “This saved me money” outcome. It can show whether members genuinely want to recognize helpful contributors without turning payment into a quality score. The outcome will not create standing, credits, ranking, or tip eligibility by itself.
Eligibility remains reviewable
Tip eligibility is a continuing status, not a permanent badge. Manipulation, concealed incentives, unsafe conduct, payment fraud, or unresolved disputes can pause or remove it. FidiFox will publish the broad eligibility factors while keeping exact fraud thresholds private so they are harder to game.
The short version
Help first. Earn trust over time. Complete payout verification. If tips become active, support can reward the contributor, but it can never purchase influence anywhere else on FidiFox.
